First of all before class started, I really did not know about the word 'sustainable' and even the existence of 'sustainable development' itself.
After 8 weeks I learnt about sustainability, I just found out that sustainability is actually very wide not just in the environment but also in terms of education, city and including the 3R(Reuse,Reduce,Recycle). For these 8 weeks, I am aware that we should sustain the 3 pillars of the SDGs (social, economy and environment).
In addition, I learned that in fact Allah is the only one sustainer that sustains His creator which are humans, animals and plants by using the laws of the Quran. I myself as a human do not use al-Quran as my guide and as a system of the way of life. This is the reason why it is difficult to achieve sustainability. It might struggle too for us to achieve in the real world nowadays if I'm a silo thinker. Silo means an inability to think flexibly across boundaries and just focus on one side.
I also learned the disadvantages of using plastic. We have discussed microplastic in the blood that is often used on water bottles. microplastic can pose a developmental risk in the born baby because it is present in the placenta.
As a result, I often practice using a reusable bag when shopping and always carry it everywhere and put it in my handbag so I don't forget or leave it. Actually I used to do it once before but I don't practice it properly.
p/s: Actually there are many things that I do not know. I love when teacher always encourages us to be more active and not be passive and always have discussions with each other in class. It benefits me and also the whole class 😍😙
